Hi! I’ve been in radio on and off in Shasta County since 1985, my latest stint being five years as your midday host on K-Shasta. I love the music on this station. In a sometimes difficult world, it makes everything a little better.
I have raised four amazing children in Redding. I love this area! If you don’t find me at the station, on my bike riding the Rail Trail or playing a round at one of the great golf courses in the area, I’m probably with my beautiful wife.
Philosophy: Try to leave people better than you found them.
Family: I have five siblings and 19 nieces and nephews. When you put all the cousins and grands and in-laws and all that in there, we could fill the Civic.
Birthday: March 18th, 19(gulp)68
Home: Raised in Burney. BHS class of 86. Go Green and Gold! Moved to Redding in 1987. Yes, I’m a Shasta County townie.
Biggest Fear: Heights give me the jiggly legs. Like looking over the edge of a really tall building heights.
Biggest Thrill: Dropping down a BIG hill on my road bike, pushing 40+ MPH. (Is that inconsistent with my biggest fear?)
TV Shows: Doctor Who, Top Chef, Project Runway, The Office, Supernatural, Game of Thrones… okay I watch too much TV.
Family Movies: We are big fans of Princess Bride, Meet Me in St. Louis, Fried Green Tomatoes, Places in the Heart, Crimes of the Heart for that matter… okay we watch too many movies.
Dream Job: Novelist, hands down.
Favorite Food: Oyster Shooters and Rare Steak, in that order. Although I did have mushrooms stuffed with escargot in a hot and creamy pesto sauce at Clearie’s the other day that knocked my socks off.
Idea of a Perfect Day: Trip to Ashland with the fam to see a great play, walk around Lithia Park and then eats at the Black Sheep.
Secret Identity: I’m a butcher, a banker, a candlestick maker. One of those is true.
