A Red Bluff woman is accused of assaulting two women more than 30 years older than her who had tried to help her. Shortly before 7 O’clock Monday night the manager of Casa Grande Mobile Home Park, 78-year-old Barbara Benson, was told that a woman was on the lawn at the rear of the park acting strangely. Barbara and her sister, 76-year-old Sarah Correia, went to investigate and found 45-year-old Lisa Darlene Cook. When they approached her she allegedly attacked Barbara, causing a swollen eye and several scratches and gouges. Â When Sarah tried to contact someone nearby for help she also was battered. When Sarah armed herself with a wood-handled broom from a nearby trailer Cook reportedly took the broom away and struck Sarah with it. Cook was eventually taken into custody and booked into jail for felony assault and elder abuse. Barbara was treated for her injuries at a hospital.
