A search in Happy Valley for a suspect considered armed and dangerous was called off Thursday. 46-year-old David Shott apparently ran following a CHP pursuit and the sheriff’s office tracking him with dogs Thursday afternoon in the area of Olinda Road and Monte Vista. Happy Valley Elementary School was locked down until classes were dismissed for the day at around 3:30PM. Shortly after that the manhunt was called off. The chase began when the driver, 55-year-old Melinda Morland, reportedly made a u-turn to avoid a CHP Officer and he went after her. She stopped at an orchard on Olinda Road and Shott reportedly ran away with a handgun in his hand. He has not been found.
