A 42-year-old accountant is accused of embezzling a fortune from her employer, a Tehama County real estate and walnut company. A lengthy investigation began a year ago when the owners of Gilchrist Properties in Los Molinos told the sheriff’s office of their suspicions. Last January the company fired Jessica Andromeda McCoy because they suspected her of stealing more than $300,000 from them over the course of four years. The sheriff’s office served search warrants on McCoy’s bank accounts, residence, vehicles and private business office. They found probable cause against McCoy for the embezzlement. The California Franchise Tax Board launched an investigation as well, finding that McCoy filed a false tax return in 2014 and didn’t file at all in 2015 and 2016. On Wednesday McCoy was arrested on 39 felony counts and booked into jail on One Million Dollars bail.
