A very large building on South Market Street in Redding went up in flames Saturday afternoon, and it burned to the ground at an alarming rate. The building on the corner of Wyndham and Market used to be the home of “Amazing Finds”, an antique and consignment store. It’s housed a number of businesses but its most recent role was to serve as a storage space for “Bedmart” right next door. The two buildings had only a narrow gap between them, but firefighters kept damage to Bedmart only very minor. Another concern was the other next-door neighbor, Northern Lights Energy, but firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to that potentially catastrophic direction, according to Redding Fire Chief Gerry Gray. The warehouse itself is a complete loss. Redding Fire Department was assisted by several other agencies, including Cal-Fire, Shasta County Fire and Anderson Fire.
