The name has been released of a man who was killed by a train Tuesday Night. A little after 7 O’clock Anderson Police were called to the area of Ox Yoke Road and Highway 273. Two people were already there looking for the man. They said he was intoxicated and had tried to break into a nearby business. Officers searched for the man until a northbound Union Pacific freight train came along and ran over him. He had been laying across the tracks between Alexander Avenue and Ox Yoke. His identity was not immediately known but the coroner’s office was able to identify him through fingerprint records as 40-year-old Matthew Joseph Benner of Redding. His family has been notified.
