A Lojack device led to the recovery of a stolen car following a chase early Friday morning. At 1AM a Redding Police Officer with a Lojack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in his patrol car got an alert. Within a few minutes he narrowed the search down and located the car with the tracking device heading west on Lake Boulevard near Market Street. He tried to get away but took a wrong turn onto Clay Street then Buckeye Terrace and then the dead end of Dogwood Lane, where he drove the car down a steep ravine and got stuck in dense brush. A perimeter was set up with help from a CHP helicopter and eventually officers found 42-year-old Shawn Cunningham of Klamath Falls and arrested him for possession of a stolen car, possession of heroin , evading and resisting arrest.
