Hopefully wallets won’t be completely emptied by Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday because a week from Tuesday is the third annual Northstate Giving Tuesday. The one-day fundraising blitz is eagerly anticipated by local non-profit organizations. the 12 hour effort is administered by the Shasta Regional Community Foundation. The first year was 2015 when a goal of $150,000 was more than doubled. Last year the goal was raised to a Half Million Dollars. That was reached by 2 O’clock in the afternoon and the total at the end of the day was more than $750,000. Dozens of organizations are hoping the upward trend continues with next Tuesday’s event.
