The Redding City Council will meet Wednesday to take on some public safety issues. A private donation will be presented by Bethel Church to partially fund the neighborhood police unit. They had pledged $500,000 and planned to raise an additional $1.24 Million from community donations in order to fund the unit for two years. At Wednesday’s meeting a presentation of current public safety initiatives will be followed by an overview of a previous public safety workshop in July. Finally, the council will take comments and questions from the public. The meeting is Wednesday at 5 O’clock in the council chambers.
