A Tehama County man has been sentenced for a couple of police pursuits. In the first incident Corning Police were seeking 34-year-old Timothy Dean Smith for being a felon in possession of guns. When an officer spotted him driving he tried to pull him over and chased him for about 3 miles as Smith ran red lights and swerved into oncoming traffic. Eventually the officer lost sight of Smith and he got away. In another incident a Tehama County Deputy tried to pull over Smith for having no license plates on his motorcycle. Smith fled at high speed down Highway 99 until he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He then tried to get away on foot but was caught by a K-9. Smith has been given a 4 year prison sentence.
