The 1st human case of West Nile Virus this year has been reported in Shasta County. The Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency says that an adult is recovering at home after becoming the 1st reported human case in Shasta County this season. West Nile Virus is spread through mosquitos and is found in all parts of Shasta County. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, worsening confusion or stiff neck. 2 birds, 4 mosquito samples, and 1 horse have tested positive for the virus this year in Shasta County.
