Man With Horses Helps Rescue Injured Hiker

An injured hiker in Southern Siskiyou County was helped out of his predicament thanks to an old fashioned solution provided by a Shasta Lake City man who happened to be there. At 8:30AM Sunday morning a man called for help after he injured his knee while hiking near Toad Lake. A deputy went to try and help the man but he couldn’t drive beyond the parking lot. That’s where Mike Bingham came into the picture. He was just breaking camp in the area and he volunteered to saddle up two horses. The Deputy and Bingham rode on horseback to Toad Lake, found the injured man and carried him back to the parking lot. Although his injury left him unable to walk on his own, he was able to drive and said he would seek medical help on his own.
