A crash on Interstate Five a little south of Cottonwood early Sunday morning resulted in the loss of three young lives, according to the CHP. At 1:45AM, a 2018 Kia was southbound when it went onto the shoulder of the freeway and smashed into the rear of a parked tractor-trailer rig. The 16-year-old male driver of the Kia was killed, along with a 15-year-old female passenger and a 20-year-old female passenger. A 21-year-old female passenger suffered major injuries. The trucker, 47-year-old Rodney Hill of Elk Grove, was not injured. The CHP continues to investigate.
