A Corning motorcyclist suffered critical injuries when he was struck by a stolen SUV being pursued by police, according to the Corning Observer. Last Saturday night an automated license plate reader in Red Bluff alerted police to a stolen GMC Terrain. Officers intercepted the vehicle and tried to pull it over, but the driver, identified as 37-year-old Devin Woodard of Oakland, fled at high speed. Red Bluff Police and CHP Officers chased the Terrain all the way to Corning, where it took off down South Avenue. Just west of Woodson Avenue the GMC hit a motorcycle and ejected the rider, 19-year-old Julian Barrajas. He suffered internal injuries and multiple broken bones. Woodard was booked into jail.
