A man led police on a lengthy chase with five dogs as passengers. At around Noon Monday Anderson Police say they tried to pull over 24-year-old Thomas Wooden on Balls Ferry Road near Interstate 5, but he sped off. APD kept chasing him until a CHP helicopter was able to track him from the air and the ground units backed off. Wooden drove to Redding and eventually pulled into the Mount Shasta Mall parking lot, where he parked and left the car full of dogs behind. Officers chased him on foot back and forth across Highway 44 twice, and through residential streets before finally catching him near the U.S. Bank on Dana Drive. He was booked into jail for the chase, as well as multiple warrants.
